Secondary ExPlore Week at Plymouth Christian Academy

Modeled after the college January Term Idea, (J-Term), Plymouth Christian Academy’s ExPlore Week is designed to increase learning opportunities for students. ExPlore Week is a one-week educational program that provides 9th-12th grade students an opportunity to learn a new skill, study a topic in-depth, or take an exciting trip!

Whether it is through one of the many specialty classes offered or during a trip to Costa Rica, ExPlore Week allows for focused, in-depth study and is an opportunity for teachers and students to form deeper relationships.

PCA’s ExPlore Week takes place during the spring of each school year.

ExPlore Classes

A variety of classes help students discover new interests and test their creativity. Classes are held both on campus and around the community. It’s a week to experiment, create, grow and ExPlore!

ExPlore Trips

PCA Sophomores and Seniors have the opportunity to experience both educational and mission trips. Students learn firsthand by visiting museums, viewing amazing architecture and absorbing the culture of their surroundings. Seniors who travel to Costa Rica not only relax in the beauty of God’s creation on their senior trip, they also become the hands and feet of Jesus as they share the Gospel through word and deed.

Washington DC

Washington DC: 10th-grade students have the unforgettable opportunity to experience our nation’s rich history and Capitol, firsthand. Students experience the entire Smithsonian Museum Complex as well as Mt. Vernon, Arlington National Cemetery, the U.S. Capitol Building, and the Gettysburg Battlefield.

Costa Rica

Seniors have the unique opportunity to visit the country of Costa Rica. The trip is coordinated through Joshua Expeditions, a non-profit Christian organization founded for the purpose of assisting schools and churches in bringing the world to young people and bringing the Gospel to the world. During this trip, students have many memory making opportunities, including white water rafting, zip lining, enjoying a catamaran cruise, viewing a waterfall and a volcano, and visiting natural hot springs. The mission work on this trip is truly a highlight of their senior year, as they have life-changing experiences whether they spend quality time with orphans and school-age children, or help local churches with their facility. This trip allows our seniors to learn and experience the people, places, and significance of this beautiful country.
