Yes. For new students, application to Plymouth Christian Academy and application for financial aid awards are two separate processes. However, new families may complete both application processes simultaneously.

A wide range of families with a variety of circumstances qualify for the program. Many factors are evaluated, including income, assets, unusual expenses, and the size of the family.

No. Every family is required to make a financial investment in their child’s education.  A financial aid awards means we are sharing the investment with you.  All families pay at least 50% of the full cost of tuition.  

PCA has used a company called FACTS for the past several years for our tuition assistance management. FACTS will continue to collate and secure the financial aid award applications. FACTS Management is a very reputable firm, serves thousands of private Christian schools and has an established confidential and secure process. After finishing the evaluation of your application, FACTS will collate the information regarding your family’s financial situation for the PCA Tuition Office. All information is secure and held in strict confidence. Upon analysis of the information from FACTS, a final calculation will be made and you will be notified of your financial aid award.  

Yes!  Choosing a Christian education for your family is a JOY! But paying for it may feel daunting, even though it is an outstanding value with eternal benefits.  Plymouth Christian Academy recognizes and appreciates the sacrifices that families make for their children to receive a Christ-centered, biblically based curriculum and instruction.  To help make that investment workable for your family, following are some proven ways to make private tuition more affordable:

• Pray:  He is, after all, our Jehovah-Jirah – our Great Provider!  Where God guides, He provides (Isaiah 58:11).  When He calls you to a place, He also equips you to be where He leads.  We have heard so many amazing stories over the years of God’s gracious provision....an unexpected gift, the generosity of extended family, a job promotion....truly, we serve an Almighty God!
• SCRIP:  Fundraising - For Your Own Tuition Account??!  Yes, it's true!! PCA allows you to fundraise to help cover your own tuition costs!  Plymouth Christian Academy has partnered with “Shop with Scrip.”  SCRIP is a fundraising tool for schools, but PCA is unique in that we allow the school savings to be applied against individual family tuition accounts.  As a family, you would use gift cards purchased through SCRIP to make your regular purchases or special purchases (for example stocking up on Lowes or Home Depot gift cards when planning a large home project).  A rebate percentage, which varies by retailer, is returned to the school, and we apply it to your account.  It's just that simple!  Even better, you can ask friends and family to sign up as well and use their rebates to apply against your tuition.  The program is flexible and allows you to purchase both electronic (downloaded to your computer or smart phone) and physical gift cards.  For enrolled families, you can start saving today!   Some of our families have earned over $3,000/year using this program!  Contact Laura Imlach at laura.imlach@plymouthchristian.org to enroll.
• MESP: Some families use their Michigan Education Savings Plan (MESP), a 529 Savings account, to pay for K-12 tuition at our private, accredited Christian school.  Talk to your tax advisor or learn more at: How Does A 529 Plan Work In Michigan? (misaves.com)
• Scholarships:  RenewANation is an organization specializing in promoting Christian education nationally and has a scholarship program for families who pursue Christian education for their K-12 students.  PCA is an approved school and may submit applications in August of each year for current families qualifying within 150% of the poverty index.  Also, the Children’s Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for low-income families enrolling their students in private K-12 schools.  They can be contacted at Apply for Private School Scholarships - Children's Scholarship Fund. A Better Chance is a national-scale program that provides financial aid for students entering grade 4 through 9. Note that this program is available only for students of color who are US Citizens: Eligibility Requirements - A Better Chance.  Search online - there are often scholarship opportunities for specific demographic populations that may help!
• Contact your church:  Many churches recognize the importance of Christian education as an extension of their own discipleship efforts and ministries to families and children.  Churches have provided funding for their members with students enrolled at PCA to help support their congregation and ministry staff.  

It is worth it - every single penny! The 15,000 hours a student spends at Plymouth Christian from kindergarten through 12th grade has eternal and significant value. The undeniable truth is that education helps shape your child’s worldview and as Christian parents, we must use every means we can to bring up our children in God’s way. Yes, it requires a significant financial investment and, for many, a sacrifice. But we’re doing more than preparing our young people for the next step. We prepare them for life.
