Affording Private School Tuition
We understand that traditional private school tuition systems are often cost prohibitive. Our Variable Tuition model aims to make private school tuition more cost effective for all.
We believe that every child deserves an affordable Christian education. With our Variable Tuition Program, approved families can save up to 50% off the full cost of their child’s tuition.
Our Variable Tuition program does not mean that the quality of your child’s education will be sacrificed. On the contrary – we provide a consistently high-level curriculum that provides a strong foundation for their future.
Think you can't afford a quality Christian education?
Think again. Plymouth Christian Academy, which has been voted numerous times as one of the best private schools in Michigan, offers Variable Tuition. Tuition at Plymouth Christian is not a “one-size-fits-all” model. It’s a range. A range that spans from 50%-85% of the full cost of education. Variable Tuition adjusts tuition rates to meet your family’s unique financial position. Due to the support of our donors, fundraising activities, Shared Time Program, and shared resources and staff with Calvary Baptist Church, no family at Plymouth Christian pays the full cost of education. In fact, the top amount of each tuition range has already been adjusted to reflect 85% of the full tuition price.
General FAQs
Variable Tuition is a need-based tuition assistance program similar to those used by many private schools, colleges, and universities. This program allows families to apply for reduced tuition that is right for their families’ financial situation. Thus, this makes a Plymouth Christian education affordable to many qualified students who could not otherwise join our school community.
Any full-time family (current or new) of a kindergarten through twelfth-grade student may apply for Variable Tuition if they are concerned about affording the full tuition rate at Plymouth Christian and they think they may qualify for the program. Many factors are considered when determining the tuition amount a family is able to pay, including income, assets, unusual expenses, and the size of the family. An application for Variable Tuition does not affect PCA’s Continuous Enrollment Program or new student admission process. Regardless of financial need, parents should complete the Continuous Enrollment or admission process as early as possible. Families may apply for Variable Tuition only after they have completed the Continuous Enrollment process or applied to the school. It is not possible for a family or the school to estimate the tuition level for which a family qualifies without the completion of a Variable Tuition application. Applications are submitted to our 3rd party service, FACTS, who makes a recommendation based on the criteria set by the school. PCA’s Tuition Office will notify families of the Variable Tuition level for which they qualify.
Yes.
The Tuition Reduction Incentive Program (TRIP) is intended to provide additional support to families in the payment of their tuition. Participation is open to all parents, grandparents, relatives, friends and anyone in the community who wishes to support tuition reduction at PCA. The TRIP program purchases gift cards/certificates from “Shop with Scrip,” who supplies cards for various restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, and service businesses at a discount to the school. “Shop with Scrip” offers rebates on the gift cards purchased resulting in families sharing in the rebate. Families in the program purchase these certificates at face value. The difference (credit) between the TRIP purchase price of the certificate and the full face value of the certificate is passed on to participating families for tuition reduction.
It is worth it - every single penny! The 15,000 hours a student spends from kindergarten through 12th grade at Plymouth Christian has eternal and significant value. The undeniable truth is that education helps shape your child’s worldview and as Christian parents, we must use every means we can to bring up our children in God’s way. Yes, it requires a significant financial investment and, for many, a sacrifice. But we’re doing more than preparing our young people for the next step. We prepare them for life. Physical things will fade with time, but the investment we make in Christian education for our children will endure for eternity.
