When the PCA Eagles cheered on the EMU Eagles and in the process made a new friend

This past weekend a group of PCA high school students, PCA Eagles, decided to get decked out in Eastern Michigan University (EMU) gear and spend some time cheering on the EMU Eagles. The coach of the EMU football team, Chris Creighton, is a PCA parent. Coach Creighton has done an amazing job with the EMU football team. You may have read a recent USA Today article about him and the EMU program. If you missed it, you can find it here.
But the story that we want to share isn’t about the EMU football team or even about football at all. It’s about a group of PCA high school students who made a new friend and along the way inspired a testimony from a parent. Upon arrival at the game, this group of students met a young man, Jaden, whose brother works with Coach Creighton. Due to a series of events, Jaden was going to be spending the evening at this particular game in the company Mrs. Creighton, rather than kids his age. While she was going to make it a good evening for him, she was grateful for the group from PCA. According to Mrs. Creighton, “The whole group IMMEDIATELY accepted him. They played football at the tailgate and hung through the whole game together. They were SO INCREDIBLY AWESOME to him. I’ve been in a ton of Christian settings, and this was one of the most Christ-like experiences I’ve seen. They all have his number and social media contacts and are keeping in touch with him. He’s the sweetest kid. I wanted to share this because I was just so so so impressed with this group of kids!”
Special thanks to this group of students who reached out and made a new friend and along the way inspired a very touching testimony!
