Dear Plymouth Christian Parents, Staff, & Faculty,

There is no doubt that the start of the 2020 school year has been unique and challenging. We are so grateful for how you, our PCA parents, have walked graciously with us through the ups and downs. Our students and staff have made the very best of an ever-changing environment, and I couldn’t be prouder of our school family. Last night, I wrote to inform you of our continued adherence to Governor Whitmer’s most recent order regarding facial coverings for K-5. Since more clarification has been released today regarding the Michigan Supreme Court decision regarding the limitations on executive orders, we are reversing our decision to require K-5 face coverings inside classrooms.

This communication is to assure you that as a school community, we will continue to follow PCA’s REUNITE reopening plan when school resumes tomorrow morning. All health and safety precautions in place thus far will continue to be used. Since face coverings inside classrooms for K-5 students were not in place, we will not require them. What will stay the same?

  • Face coverings for 6th-12th grade students and staff at all times
  • Face coverings for K-5 students when moving throughout the campus
  • Adherence to social distancing
  • Continued emphasis on hand hygiene
  • Classroom disinfecting
  • Daily health checks

Over the next several weeks, we will pray and wait for guidance from the state legislature, Wayne County, our school and church boards, and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. We are looking forward to more clarity in the coming days, and we are grateful that we have God as our anchor through these turbulent times.

We have had an amazing six weeks as a school family, and we are firmly committed to educating and equipping our students for a lifetime of learning, leadership, and service. I praise God for all of you and recognize that God’s hand of grace is on Plymouth Christian Academy.

Thank you for your patience, flexibility, understanding, and support. It is truly a reflection of the unique and enduring partnership between our parents and staff.
