Secondary Clubs & Organizations

At PCA there are a multitude of extracurricular activities and clubs for secondary students to take part in. Through these opportunities where they can explore their interests, they are able to grow their leadership skills and knowledge. We are grateful to the staff and parent mentors who make these activities and organizations possible!

German Club

The German Club (Deutschklub) at PCA is to promote the study and enjoyment of the German culture and language. The club and its activities are open to all current and former students of German. Regular meetings take place once a month to plan special gatherings once a quarter. German Club activities include such events as dinner at a German restaurant, baking German Christmas goodies, and “game night” with German board games. Activities will afford current students an opportunity to practice their German in a low-stress, non-graded environment, and provides former students of German a way to stay connected with the culture and language.

High School Class Officers

Classes 9-12 elect class officers to represent them throughout the year. High School Class Officers are called upon to achieve the following mission:

  • Meet the spiritual needs of class members
  • Encourage friendship within and between classes
  • Promote school spirit
  • Join together in community service
  • Earn money to address the needs of the organization

High School Robotics Team

During a six-week period beginning in January, PCA Robotics High School Team gears up. Students learn to build a robot from a common kit of parts, which typically weighs up to 150 lbs. Engineering mentors, consisting of PCA parents and alumni, guide students through the construction process. The PCA Robotics Team, The Atoms Family, participates in the FIRST Robotics Competition (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) program with more than 68,000 high school competitors. Regional competitions begin in early March with National Championships in April. Participation in Robotics is a great avenue to open opportunities for a college scholarship. You can stay connected to the current happenings with PCA Robotics by checking out their WEBSITE or by following them on TWITTER or FACEBOOK.
