Purple & Gold Day 2019

Spirit Week 2020 is almost here and we have all the details you need to know! Spirit Week takes place the week of February 3-7, with the parent sponsored Homecoming Dance and Alumni Breakfast and Basketball on February 8.  Before we can celebrate this amazing week, there is lots of work to do!

FRIDAY, JANUARY 31: High School Work Day, 3 pm-5 pm (Boys Basketball Teams are all away, departing at 4:30 pm)

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1: High School Work Day, 9 am-4 pm (may extend to 5 pm if necessary. Boys bowling, wrestling & cheer have matches and meets this day.)

The following details should answer all your questions if you are the parent of a middle school or high school student or have alumni in your family!

The 2020 Spirit Week theme is “Once Upon a Homecoming”

  • Seniors: Princess Leia & Princess Mulan
  • Juniors: Princess Cinderella & Princess Jasmine
  • Sophomores: Princess Rapunzel & Princess Anna
  • Freshman: Princess Snow White & Princess Elza

High School Spirit Week Schedule & Dress Themes

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 3–Multiples Monday

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 4–Team Tuesday

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 5–Western Wednesday 

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 6–Theme Thursday 

    • 7:25-11 am: Welcome & Games in Butler Gym
    • 9:15-9:30 am: Bathroom & Snack Break
    • 11:00am-1:00pm: Class Meetings, Lip Sync Practice, & Lunch
    • 1:00pm-1:30pm: Senior Past Lip Syncs
    • 1:30pm-3:00pm: Lip Syncs 2020

*Families are welcome to attend the High School Lip Sync Performance–Doors open at 1:00 pm

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7–Fan Friday – PURPLE & GOLD DAY, Middle School Participates

  • PEP Rally: 2:18-3:00 pm
  • 4:30 pm: Doors Open, Concession Stand Open
  • 5:00 pm: Gym Doors Open
  • 5:30 pm: HOMECOMING COURT
  • 6:00 pm-Alumni Welcome Center Opens
  • 6:00 pm-8:00 pm: Alumni Dinner served, featuring Dickey’s Barbeque
  • 6:30 pm-Girls Varsity vs. Everest Collegiate
  • 8:00 pm-Boys Varsity vs. Trillium Academy
  • 2020 Alumni Photo following boys game, center court

Middle School Spirit Week Schedule & Dress Themes

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 3: 80’s DAY

Find those acid wash jeans, high tops, leg warmers, and neon clothes for 80’s day!

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 4: Career Day 

What will you be when you grow up? Dress for success on career day to show us your future occupation!

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 5, Twin Day

Grab a friend and matching attire for Twin Day!

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 6: Disney Day

Dress up as your favorite character from Disney+, including those from Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel

FRIDAY, FEBRUAY 7: Purple & Gold Day

Show us your PCA pride on Purple and Gold Day!

Special Events: 
  • Thursday: Middle school will attend the Lip Sync Battle
  • Friday (during the High School Pep Rally): We will hold a 7th Grade vs. 8th Grade game of dodgeball in the Activity Center

 

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 8

Alumni & Friends Reunion Breakfast & Basketball Game

The PCA tradition continues! All alumni, coaches, parents, and friends are invited to join us for breakfast in the Activity Center at 10:30 am, followed by a reunion basketball tournament in the Butler Gym beginning at 11:30 am. Parent Sponsored High School Homecoming Party
The Homecoming Social 2020 takes place at Fox Hills in Plymouth. Contact Renee Kurtycz with questions, 734-516-7455. Students must have a completed form, along with payment, for admittance to the social. Homecoming forms are available in the secondary office.
