Last week in both the elementary and secondary chapel, we introduced Project ENCOURAGEMENT.  As a school community, we are seeking to bless the grandparents in our school family, as well as our neighbors living in nursing homes and assisted living centers. Social distancing is especially difficult for this group, as they are so isolated, some living completely alone, and also very concerned as they are the most at risk. Since we don’t have schoolwork this week due to spring break, we thought it would be the perfect time for our school community to bless them this Easter.
How does this work?
1.  To ensure that our friends receive this blessing, we’ve divided up our list of PCA staff grandparents & neighboring assisted living & nursing homes according to grade.
2. Write your note of encouragement and mail it to the assigned names and organizations. This past Friday, we emailed the list with names and addresses included in the Eagle News. We are not including the individual addresses in this post.  If you have questions about those addresses, please email Peggy Paulson at
  • Preschool: Mrs. Beverly Smith (Mrs. Hay’s mom)
  • Begindergarten & Kindergarten, 1st-2nd Grade: Waltonwood Carriage Park Attn: Nicole Passmore, Life Enrichment Director 2000 N. Canton Center Road Canton, MI 48187 FYI-this is the facility that our kindergarten students normally visit during Project SHINE and they are thrilled to hear from you! Many of you in 1st and 2nd Grade probably visited these neighbors in years past!
  • 3rd Grade: Mrs. Lucy Morris (Mrs. Suzy Palms’ mom)
  • 4th Grade: Mrs. Dora Garcia (Mrs. Hope’s mother-in-law, PCA Middle School Science Teacher)
  • 5th Grade: Mrs. Ruth Cole (Mrs. Wright’s mom)
  • 6th Grade: Mrs. JoAnne Bartlett (Mrs. Larabee’s mom)
  • 7th-11th Grade: Independence Village Plymouth Attn: Jen Sackett, Life Enrichment Director 14707 Northville Road Plymouth, MI 48170. Mrs. Sackett is a Christian and is asking for prayer for her residents who are in complete lock-down, unable to gather in any way. She is leading a project to fill 185 Easter baskets and is overwhelmed with joy at the thought that she could include a note of encouragement from you!
  • 12th Grade: Mrs. Carolyn Hammar (Mr. Hammar’s mom)
Thank you so much for taking a minute to bless our senior citizens this Easter! Please share pictures of your finished cards and letters via social media, using the hashtag, #PCAProjectENCOURAGEMENT
