PCA’s Fall Opening Plan

By: Webmaster|Date: Aug 11, 2020|Tags: Eagle News

From the Desk of Mrs. Huntsman

Dear Plymouth Christian Family,
I am extremely grateful for each and every one of you, and I want to thank you for your patience as you have waited for our fall reopening plans. I also want to thank you for your tremendous dedication to the education of your children, and for your partnership in that journey with Plymouth Christian Academy. Finally, thank you so much for the feedback you have provided through both the parent survey sent out in July and the recent questions submitted for the upcoming town hall. We value your input and I can assure you that your voice has been heard.
We are thrilled to welcome you back on campus for in-person instruction on August 24. Our team has worked tirelessly to provide the safest environment for your students, and we cannot wait to see you. Some of you expressed interest in an online option as well, and we have delivered. I think you will be extremely pleased with this new program, Eagles at Home, along with all the other details laid out in our plans.
You will receive your data verification email in your inbox today, following this communication. Your response to this data verification, and completion of all forms by Friday, August 14, at noon, will ensure that you receive your child’s classroom list and/or secondary schedule by the end of the day on Friday, August 14. If you do not receive this data verification email today, please contact Leanne Windle at
Times like these prompt us to reflect and re-center on our purpose and mission to serve this generation of students. At the heart of our mission is the unwavering commitment to provide the highest quality education and exceptional spiritual care and comfort for your young people. What a privilege it is to share this responsibility with you. As we launch into the school year, please keep our entire school community in your prayers. We know that the Lord holds our steps and our days in His hands.
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” Proverbs 16:9
In Him,
Caryn Huntsman
Superintendent/Secondary Principal

At Plymouth Christian, we are committed to providing the best education for your children, whether that is in-person or virtual. We have worked throughout the past several months to ensure that our in-person education will be as safe as possible. At the same time, we have worked to create our brand new virtual online platform, Eagles at Home, for the families who select this route. As educators, we are dedicated to do all that we can to help our students continue to grow academically, spiritually, and socially through this challenging time.
With this in mind, we are pleased to introduce the PCA Reunite Plans for both Early Childhood (Preschool and Begindergarten), and K-12th grades. These documents outline our plans for a Plymouth Christian education in phases 1-4. They also include our brand new virtual online option, Eagles at Home.
Click the cover below to view the plan that corresponds to your child’s grade. Please note that the documents can be downloaded for your convenience.

Our recent parent survey indicated a small percentage of our families may require an online learning option. For appropriate circumstances, we are working to provide this option for all grades. Please note that online learning will require a strong partnership between parents and the classroom teacher and a self-motivated learner to maximize student achievement. Online Learning will not change our mission to partner with parents and equip students to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ, and to provide for academic excellence.
We strongly prefer to have our students on campus but understand that each family may have urgent needs. Our ultimate goal is to have all of our students regathered on campus. We deeply value every student and family at Plymouth Christian and we will continue to provide a high-quality education taught through the lens of a biblical worldview even through these unique circumstances.
Online learning can appear daunting and we want to provide parents and students the tool kits and face-to-face time they so desperately need. In order to provide students a robust and interactive online learning experience, we will provide the following experiences. Click the following to download the complete description:

You’ve seen this before, but there are so many details
we decided to repeat it in case you missed it!
Back at Parent Orientation 2019, I mentioned that as a ministry we were planning to replace the parking lot. We have kept that commitment, have been working with contractors, and have already paid a very large deposit to start the project. When the pandemic began, we put a hold on the project with a deadline in August. Our deadline has arrived and so as to not lose the big deposit we have already paid, we are moving forward with the work. Starting August 3rd, our lot will be transformed. Places to park will be disrupted during this time so it has made it necessary to go virtual with our Packet Pick-up Day that was originally scheduled for August 14th. In addition to getting a much needed new parking lot, we also believe you will love the new systems we are building that will make your life much easier.
All forms you normally turn in on that day will be submitted electronically, and when you have completed and submitted all of them, you will receive an email with your student’s secondary schedule and elementary class list. Provided that you submit all forms in a timely manner, your class list and schedules will be emailed to you on August 14th in the afternoon. In a time of information overload, we are feverishly working to include everything in one email with links for your convenience. We trust that this temporary adjustment will make school forms more accessible. This information will also be published on our website with all of the need-to-know information for returning to school.
We know many questions will arise due to this change, so hopefully, the following list provides those answers!
Kaiser Studio Picture Days
  • Secondary: Thursday, August 27, throughout the school day, 7:30 am-3:00 pm
  • Elementary: Thursday, September 17, throughout the school day, 8:00am-3:00pm
P.E. Clothes
5th and 6th students will receive their P.E. clothes the first week of school.
Elementary Supply Drop-off & Classroom Visits
Elementary students and one parent have the opportunity to come to campus for 30-minute time slots on Monday, August 24 to visit their classroom, meet their teacher, and drop off supplies. All health and safety protocols will be in place on these days. This day will be organized alphabetically in an effort to reduce numbers of people in the classrooms at a time. The following is the schedule we ask our families to use according to their last name:
  • 9-9:30 am: AB
  • 9:30-10am: CD
  • 10-10:30 am: EF

Secondary Locker Set-Up & Explore Your Schedule
Secondary students and one parent will sign up for one-hour time slots the week of August 17th through August 20th. There will be 25 slots per hour available. During this time, Student Ambassadors and PCA Support Staff will be available to assist you around the building and answer any questions you may have. All health and safety protocols will be in place on these days. Click HERE to visit the Sign-Up Genius and save your slot!
Student & Parent Technology On-boarding Plan
