Do you have questions about Murray Lake Day? We have answers!

For all our new secondary parents (whether you’ve been a PCA for the past several years with an elementary student or you are brand new to our school this year) this is news you can use!

What is Murray Lake Day?

This longstanding PCA tradition for PCA 7th-12th grade students dates back to 1996. On this day, our entire secondary student body spends the day at Murray Lake for class competitions, fellowship, a spiritual challenge, and tons of fun.

When is Murray Lake Day?

Wednesday, September 4, 9am – 2pm

How do we get to Murray Lake?

Students can drive or be dropped off directly at Murray Lake.  Please arrive between 8:30am-9:00am.

If students need to ride the PCA bus for transport to Murray Lake, they need to sign up in the secondary office for that transportation and arrive at school to catch the bus by 8:15am on September 4.

Address for Murray Lake: 7994 Plymouth Ann Arbor Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48105. It is located on the south side of the road at the intersection of Curtis Rd and Ann Arbor Road, where we will have some balloons labeling the entrance.

Students will participate in various activities together with their class, such as volleyball, kickball, relay races, and more. Please encourage your student to bring a swim suit with them as there will be some activities in the water during the day. There will be two life guards on duty throughout the day along with medical personnel if any issues arise.

Regarding dress code, our extra-curricular attire should be adhered to. Consider the following as some guidelines:

Shorts should reach past the fingertips (at a minimum) while standing up straight.

Spandex, leggings, and similar form-fitting apparel should not be worn as outer apparel. They may be worn under shorts fitting the above guideline.

Tank tops, camis, and sleeveless shirts should not be worn.

Swim suits must be modest, one piece suits for girls and loose fitting Bermuda style for guys.

Additionally, each grade is assigned a color to increase class spirit and students are encouraged to wear as much of this color as possible. The colors are as follows:

Seniors – Black

Juniors – Red

Sophomores – Blue

Freshmen – Green

8th Grade – Gold

7th Grade – Purple

We will also be providing lunch for your students. There will be a snack in the morning consisting of granola bars and water (with fruit available for those with allergy concerns). For lunch, there will be hot dogs, chips, water, and ice cream. Students can also bring their own lunch if desired.

At 2:00 pm the day is complete and students can leave or parents can pick them up at Murray Lake. The bus will return to PCA by 2:15 pm if you are picking up at school.

The weather for tomorrow looks partly sunny with a high of 72 degrees. We are looking forward to a fabulous day at the lake!
