For the 2019-2020 school year, Photography was added to our list of Fine Arts electives. There were numerous requests from students to make this a reality, and we were thrilled to fulfill that request. In addition to Photography, a variety of other electives, such as Cartooning and Graphic Design, were created to meet the growing interests and needs of our students.
The PCA Photography class has set a goal to take photos almost daily. Students are encouraged to grow their photography “eye” by actively seeking subject matter. They initially focus on the elements of art, but also seek to find the details in God’s creation. As the students gain experience seeking the elements of art, they move to portraits and then advertising photography.
The PCA Photography class was able to showcase their first-semester work at the 2019 Winter Art Exhibit in December. They were looking forward to showcasing second-semester work at the upcoming art exhibit this May. Since we’ve gone online with every area of our life, we are doing the same with our secondary spring art exhibits! Each week, we plan to showcase a different case with a high school class.
We invite you to enjoy the Photography Virtual Art Exhibit!
