Around the world people give each and every day, but in 2012, #GivingTuesday was introduced as a day set aside to give back and celebrate generosity. It’s a great way to prepare for the Christmas season following our day of Thanksgiving and lots of shopping on both Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
We recognize that PCA families give throughout the year and have already given so much during the Feed the Need campaign, but for those who specifically plan for year-end giving, we want to make that as simple as possible. We invite you to consider making the PCA Annual Eagle Fund part of your #GivingTuesday plans and be part of the team that is working to shape young lives to be tomorrow’s Christian leaders!
On #GivingTuesday, November 27, you can join the fun of this amazing day of giving and hopefully have your money matched! This year, Facebook and PayPal have partnered together to increase giving on #GivingTuesday.
According to Facebook, “In support of #GivingTuesday 2018, we’re partnering with PayPal to match donations made on Facebook to nonprofits up to a total of $7 million”
About the match:
- Facebook and PayPal will start matching donations at 8:00am ET (5:00am PT) on Tuesday, November 27, 2018. The matching offer will expire when $7 million in donations is reached or at 11:59pm PT on November 27.
- Donations will be matched dollar for dollar on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Matching is available for any eligible US-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that can receive donations on Facebook.
- Donations up to $250k per nonprofit and $20k per donor are eligible to be matched.
Plymouth Christian wants to use this amazing opportunity as a way to grow the dollars you plan to donate during your year-end giving. To qualify for the match, your dollars need to be processed through Facebook on Tuesday, November 27.
