An Encouraging Word

Have you ever felt unqualified to be a parent? I know I have questioned my ability to be able to raise my children correctly according to God’s standards. Parenting is not for the faint of heart. It is an amazing, yet scary journey for those who choose to take it. God knows we feel weak, fearful and sometimes feel unqualified to handle such an awesome responsibility of raising children. Since children do not arrive with a “how to raise me” manual, we must seek God’s wisdom. One Scripture passage that has helped me when raising my children is Psalm 121. “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.” Let’s approach each day with this perspective: my help comes from the Lord! Almighty God will help us! We’ve only to ask for His divine direction and guidance. He has also placed godly people in our lives to help guide and direct families. We here at PCA are blessed to partner with you as you undertake this marvelous task of raising children. Please don’t hesitate to ask for help.
Praying for you! Mrs. Huntsman
