Date: Aug 17, 2016 Tags: School NewsDear Parents:
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! I trust you are enjoying a wonderful summer with your family and are looking forward to what God is going to do in your child’s life this year.
This year’s elementary chapel theme is “Walk Worthy.” Our theme verse is Colossians 1:10, “That you might WALK WORTHY of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.“ We are excited to continue our walk through study of the parables of Jesus and the CONNECT Prayer & Mentorship Groups. There will also be special chapels emphasizing the Six Pillars of Godly Character which are Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. Please pray for our staff as we enter this new school year with the wonderful anticipation of what God is going to do through us as we minister to your family.
If your child has been participating in our summer reading program, “Reading Rocks!” please be sure to turn in your child’s reading record form to your child’s teacher by Thursday, September 8, 2016.
If you made a choice to participate in the Summer Bridge Activities Program, G.R.A.S.P., or myqbook, your child will receive an extra “A” in Reading, English and/or Math for the first quarter. These grades will be averaged into their first quarter grades. To receive this extra grade, simply write a note to your child’s teacher the first week of school indicating your child completed either program. You do not need to send in the finished workbooks as proof!
