“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established!”
Proverbs 16:3

Recently, I realized I had come down with something and it was serious. It was not a physical virus or infection. Apparently, I had contracted a serious case of the “I Don’t Knows”. You might recognize the symptoms because you might have the same thing. When people ask you something, do you keep saying, “I don’t know?” If you do, that is a sure clue you’ve got the illness. In thinking back across my career, I don’t believe I have ever had this sickness so bad as right now. No matter what people ask me recently, all I can say is, “I don’t know.” It is a very unsettling state of mind to have this as a leader. No one I talked to seemed to have a cure, so I finally decided to go to God, the Great Physician. I should have started with Him first, but apparently, I thought I could heal myself. I was wrong. I was convicted by the Holy Spirit to check with the Lord.
I have a habit of reading my Bible every day, and I came across a verse this week that gave me hope. It was the antidote for this serious case of the “I Don’t know”.
“Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established.” (Proverbs 16:3 ESV) Wow!

This verse reminds me of a song I used to sing in church when I was young, written by Allison Krauss entitled, “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow.”
Here is the first verse and the chorus:
“I don’t know about tomorrow
I just live for day today
I don’t borrow from the sunshine
For its skies may turn to gray
I don’t worry o’er the future
For I know what Jesus said
And today I’ll walk beside Him
For He knows what lies ahead
Many things about tomorrow
I don’t seem to understand,
but I know who hold the future,
and I know who holds my hand.”

God has the cure. “Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established. (Proverbs 16:3 ESV) God knows what is on the horizon. He knows what direction to take. He tells us in His Word, “FOR I KNOW the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you HOPE and a FUTURE. (Jeremiah 29:11 KJV)

He promises to take care of us! He knows the path each of us should take. He also knows how our school year should start next year and cares about every detail spiritually, financially, socially, educationally, and all concerns of safety. How encouraging! As a parent, I’m sure you have been asking yourself questions about the fall and wondering what school will look like when school starts. Here is what I know: At PCA, we are committing our work to the Lord and allowing Him to work through our amazing team of educators to provide a robust, solid plan of Christian Education for your children. As I look back at the past few months on how God has sustained us through this pandemic, I can see His hand. He promises that if we “Trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding. In all our ways acknowledge Him, and HE WILL DIRECT OUR PATHS.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV)

We have learned so much about what needs to be done to open school in safe way and are learning more every day. God will and is showing us exactly what we need to do to help keep our students safe and emotionally well. Our highly qualified expert team is working feverishly to make plans with our Lord and Savior’s guidance to prepare for next year. Do I have all the answers right now as to what the fall will look like for our students? I do not. But guess who does? God! He can help cure the “I don’t knows”. All we need to do is trust Him, commit our ways to Him and He will show us what is the safest, most intelligent and caring path to take to continue the wonderful legacy of Christian Education Plymouth Christian Academy has provided for over 44 years. We have had challenges before, and I’m sure there are more challenges ahead. I keep reminding myself that God is right here beside us, helping, guiding, and helping us plan. Thank you for your continued trust and partnership as we travel this educational path together. We are working feverishly and will keep you updated as our plans come to fruition with God’s help.

Love & Prayers,
Caryn Huntsman

Character Awards Chapel, Fine Arts and Robotics Virtual Assembly 2020
There are many celebrations that accompany the end of the school year, but there is one that students and parents cherish – PCA’s Character Awards Chapel! Teachers, staff, and administration recognize that the supreme goal of Christian education is Godly character formation and to “Train them up in the way they should go so that even when they are old, they will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

Teachers observe students throughout the year and awards are given to students who exemplify a particular character. These awards are treasured and encourage students to model Christ-like behavior. If you did not have the opportunity to view this year’s Character Awards Chapel, which also included Fine Arts and Robotics awards, click below!

Class of 2020
This past week, the PCA Class of 2020 completed their high school education. We are so proud of their perseverance through these difficult days. We are thrilled to be planning their commencement. Watch this video until the end to take note of the dates we have selected. We’ll celebrate in-person on our soccer field as soon as the state allows. Shout out to PCA Alumni Dad and Robotics Mentor, Mr. Rhey Galang, for capturing this drone footage from our Senior Parade Day.

Our theme verse this year was Romans 12:1-2 which says, Despite the sudden upheaval in our world, it remained our commitment, as a school, to claim this Scripture and allow ourselves to be transformed by the renewing of our minds as we learned to play our parts in His story. We want to thank so many wonderful chapel speakers who nurtured our hearts with the timeless truths of God’s transforming Word! We look forward to being transformed together as we enter this next season of our school.

Speech, Speech!
Our annual Speech Festival looked different this year as we connected digitally to learn more about the significance of speech as we communicate with others and with God. A special thank you to Miss Marnise Roberts for setting aside a special time to train us on presentation skills and techniques. Thank you all for participating in this year’s volunteer virtual speech festival. I’m very proud of all of you and have enjoyed every speech video you sent. I invite you to enjoy the speeches of some of our students. Check out the email link you received to view all the speeches!

Prayer Focus
This week as we wrap up a highly unusual school year, let’s proclaim that God is the Master Planner. He is One who has the perfect program or method worked out beforehand. Amidst this worldwide crisis, He is working things for our good and His glory. We trust He has good in store for your families as we head into summer and fall. We can trust Him with the details when we live lives fully surrendered to Him.

“Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago.” – Isaiah 25:1

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

This week please pray for:
Students, parents, and staff to have endurance for the last week of school
The textbook return/item pick-up day to be safe and productive
Teachers and administrators as they wrap up the 4th quarter and prepare for Fall
Each of the PCA graduation ceremonies to be special times of celebration
PCA to be a light for Jesus to our community in this continued time of uncertainty

Have a great summer! We hope to see you in person this fall!
