After School Care Q & A
The Plymouth Christian Academy After School Care Program is licensed by the State of Michigan Department of Social Services.
Who may attend?
Any PCA student in grades K-6 may attend the After School Care Program. Priority enrollment is given to single parent families, families where both parents are working, as well as families needing child care 5 days a week.
What are the times?
The After School Care Program will be open the days school is open. There will be no care on ½ days or holidays. The program will be held from 2:55-6:00 p.m.
What is the cost?
Parents desiring after school care make a year-long commitment to the program. We offer a varied program where a family may choose 1 to 5 days per week. A tuition schedule is available in the office. Whether a child is in after school care the entire time or a portion of the time on a given day, the family will pay the full amount. This will be processed into the FACTS program along with your child’s tuition or it can be prepaid in the fall.
What happens if I am late to pick up my child?
All children are to be picked up on time. If a family member is late (arrives after 6:00 p.m.), a late fee will be assessed. Time of day will be based on the Media Center clock. The late fees will accrue as follows: $5.00 late fee for each 5 minutes or any portion thereof. This late fee must be paid by cash or check (made payable to PCA) on the day the parent is late.
What happens if my child is absent or it’s a snow day?
PCA will not provide a tuition refund for the days your child is absent and snow days will not be refunded.
What is offered?
- Playing outside (weather permitting)
- Snack break (bring your own)
- Doing homework in a quiet environment
- Playing games
- Arts and crafts
- Many more fun and exciting activities

Snack time to replenish before we begin homework.
Study Time in the Media Center (Library). This time has been set aside for the students to do homework.
Weather permitting, the students will have this time to play outside on the playscape. If outside play is not possible, the students will be taken to the media center. Plan to pick up your student in one of these locations.
