Students
Spiritual Life Strategy – Provide spiritual leadership to both staff and students through instruction and encouragement that equips them to exhibit Christ likeness in all areas of their lives.
Strategic Priority and Implementation:
- Develop in each student the capacity to engage and evaluate their life and learning from a biblical worldview.
- Assist students in creating a spiritual development plan, which establishes the student’s spiritual goals and encourages active participation both at school and home. Spiritual Growth Portfolios will be developed beginning in 7th grade and will continue through Alumni years.
- Continue to build on our Godly Character Counts Education program through chapels and hands-on community-wide service efforts in order to develop within our students a servant’s heart and mindset essential to representing and sharing the message of Jesus.
Academic Strategy – Maintain a rigorous, college preparatory curriculum articulated within the scope of a biblical worldview through on-going evaluation of all curriculum and programs.
Strategic Priority and Implementation:
- Evaluate current curriculum to remain closely aligned with State of Michigan standards and benchmarks.
- Align curriculum across all subjects and grade levels to improve test scores and utilize current assessments to determine student achievement.
- Implement a four full day Kindergarten to enhance student preparation for first grade.
Extra Curricular Strategy – Provide extracurricular opportunities and programs that broaden and sharpen students’ interests and skills, challenging them to reach their potential for His glory.
Strategic Priority and Implementation:
- Design quality extracurricular programs, club and events that serve to educate and enrich the co-curricular environment at PCA.
- Continue our commitment to high-quality athletic venues and develop a successful football program.
- Improve our expanding fine arts program and facilities to provide an environment which enhances every student’s unique abilities for God’s glory.
Life Direction Strategy – PCA students will be well-prepared for college and a life of service to our Lord and their community through excellence in Bible centered instruction and godly example.
Strategic Priority and Implementation:
- Continue to support a comprehensive college placement program that encourages our students to explore and pursue the very best opportunities suited to the development of their individual potential in their community.
- Remain committed to helping each student identify and cultivate their gifts and talents, guiding them to pursue God’s plan for their lives.
- Focus on developing the whole student in concert with vital skills for life purpose, ministry, leadership, athletics, arts and community service.
Faculty and Staff
Development and Retention Strategy – Recruit and retain exceptional, well-prepared faculty committed to a career of engaged teaching from a biblical perspective.
Strategic Priority and Implementation:
- Demonstrate increased commitment to professional development which leads to strong classrooms and student learning, mentoring, and emergency training protocol.
- Increase faculty and staff salaries to the equitable compensation level they deserve and make it the highest priority to attract and retain faculty who exemplify Christian living and help students develop Christ-like character.
- Provide relevant materials and technology to enhance student learning, college readiness, and curricular enrichment.
Parents
Partnership Strategy – Remain dedicated to partnering with parents in the education of their child, encouraging and facilitating active involvement that values their unique abilities and resources.
Strategic Priority and Implementation:
- Increase percentage of parent involvement through clearly identified service opportunities, school wide events and projects.
- Continue to sustain and grow the Parent Teacher Fellowship to create a variety of volunteer service opportunities to our school community.
- Improve communication to families, extended school families, and community regarding school events.
Community
Service Strategy – Remain committed and purposeful in selfless acts of generosity and service to one another, surrounding communities and to a hurting and broken world.
Strategic Priority and Implementation:
- Identify and implement a School Community Service Plan to help students understand and appreciate the importance of sharing God’s love through meaningful service.
- Expand and enhance PCA’s Annual Servathon for continued community impact while developing within students a mindset that reflects the spirit of servanthood and dependence on God.
- Partner with community to increase awareness through community days, open houses and events.
Marketing and Development Strategy – Consistently and strategically communicate and market our mission, benefits and successes to current, potential and former constituencies to increase PCA’s visibility and impact in the region.
Strategic Priority and Implementation:
- Target Alumni to re-engage them in school life and build a program that connects all PCA graduates and alumni parents to our school.
- Evaluate, redesign and launch a new website and further develop and publicize the web pages to include school calendars, upcoming events, parent newsletter items, downloadable application materials and other items of interest to current and prospective PCA parents and students.
- Continue to identify and research foundation and grant opportunities that will support our mission and strategic plan.
Plymouth Christian and Calvary Baptist
Integrity Strategy – Take steps to continue to protect the integrity and reputation of our school in order to provide a Christ-centered environment where students can achieve their academic and spiritual potential.
Strategic Priority and Implementation:
- Utilize our mission and core values as guiding principles for all decisions.
- Teach the truth of God’s Word for the benefit of His children to train up future leaders who will make a bold impact for His kingdom for generations to come.
- Review and implement proven policies and procedures to foster a safe learning environment for all students and staff.
Financial Strategy – Gain fiscal health and seek new sources of revenue which will allow us to stay on the cutting edge of Christian education and continue serving our students and constituents with excellence in all we do.
Strategic Priority and Implementation:
- Commit to increase sources for new revenue in order to continually fund PCA’s mission, goals and future.
- Provide a sufficient, sustainable financial foundation that will release us from our dependency on fundraising.
- Provide a stable financial structure through increased grant writing and planned giving strategies for capital projects, facility upgrades and programming improvements.
Facilities Strategy – Maximize the functionality and appeal of our campus in ways that will support our mission and goals and allow growth in enrollment and excellence in all programs.
Strategic Priority and Implementation:
- Develop a plan to acquire and fund an additional secondary science lab geared to reinforce creation science education through the truth of Scripture.
- Complete fundraising and construction of PCA’s locker room project.
- Finish construction of Activity Center classrooms and integrate storage space to meet the educational needs of students and functional needs of teachers.
- Provide new computers for current Elementary Computer Lab.
Technology Strategy – Provide efficient integration of state of the art technology for church and school use.
Strategic Priority and Implementation:
- Provide students of all ages continuous access to local and global information through ongoing availability and advancement of current technologies.
- Update Elementary Computer Lab for student use.
- Accomplish technology plan to motivate, improve and expand our learning community.
Long Range Strategy – Utilize, adjust and prioritize the strategic plan to navigate a future that will impact the Plymouth-Canton Community for His glory.
Strategic Priority and Implementation:
- Administrative team will evaluate progress on the Strategic Plan each month, reporting changes, accomplishments, and updates.
- Continue progress and accountability of the Strategic Plan by reconvening each January with the planning team.
- Schedule annual Regent Board Review of the plan to establish priorities and present in the State of the School Address every September.
