Secondary Vocal Music consists of a middle school and high school choir as well as courses for the non-performer. More specialized vocal instruction is given in the choral setting. Students develop their listening ear and apply their skill to sight-reading and vocal production. Correlations to music history and style are applied to the vocal literature and its relevance to today is explored.
Vocal students participate in a fall Variety Show, Christmas Concert and Spring Concert. They also perform at school events such as the auction, homecoming, dramatic productions, various community activities, and MSVMA events. There are several opportunities for our students to use their gifts throughout PCA.
Many choir students participate in the leading of worship in our weekly chapels. These worship times are a great opportunity for students to draw closer to God and discover more of their spiritual gifts. Students are taught the value of their God-given talent and encouraged to use their voice and music skills to worship God.
