Graduation Requirements
Graduation from Plymouth Christian Academy requires a student to complete the required credits for graduation with at least the senior year being spent at PCA. All students must take a minimum of 3 credits each semester for freshman, sophomore, and junior years. Seniors are required to take at least five classes each semester to be considered a full time student at PCA. Eligibility for early release will be determined by the student’s academic record, attendance record, and conduct record.

All required courses failed in the ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade must be made up prior to graduation. Students must complete a minimum of 26 credits to graduate.

Plymouth Christian Academy is a college preparatory school. Our goal is to prepare students for the rigorous academic coursework that they will encounter in college. To accomplish this goal, our requirements for graduation are also rigorous and exceed the minimum standards required by the State of Michigan. Starting with Class of 2010 the following credits are required:

English 4
Math 4
Social Studies 2
Government/Economics 1
Science 3
Physical Education 1.5
Health 0.5
Bible 4
Foreign Language 2
Computer Education 1
Fine Arts 1
Speech 0.5
Electives                               1.5
TOTAL 26

Science requirement will require one credit of life science (biology) and one credit of physical science (chemistry, physics, or physical science)

Students must take Computer Applications as one of their Computer requirements.

Social Studies credits must include 1 credit of World History and 1 credit of U.S. History.

English requirements consist of English 9, English 10 and American Literature.  Seniors may choose between British Literature or AP English. Any other English courses will be used as elective, but will not count toward the core English requirement.

Only the following classes may be used toward Math credit: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Calculus 1, and AP Calculus, and Business Math. Students must take Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and one additional Math class. No other classes may be substituted for Math credit.
