Happy New Year! We hope all are enjoying these first few days of 2019 and are getting back on schedule to begin school next week.

With the start of the new year, we want to continue the discussion about the role that technology plays in the life of a Christian family. A recent “Principal’s Corner” post provided links to great resources that we want to once again recommend:

The Tech-Wise Family: Everyday Steps for Putting Technology in Its Proper Place, by Andy Crouch. This book is in the “must read” category! This short book deals with technology in the context of family life, not as an isolated issue. It’s definitely “news you can use” and is chock-full of practical help. You’ll gain great ideas on how to develop courage and wisdom as parents facing the challenges of technology.

Parenting: 14 Gospel Principles That Can Radically Change Your Family, by Paul David Tripp. The principles outlined in this book are reminders of how to keep priorities straight in the midst of the whirl of daily family life. You can view this book come to life in short videos (2-3 minutes in length) on RightNow Media. To visit the RightNow Media page for Paul Tripp’s videos, CLICK HERE.

RightNow Media is an excellent tool that is provided to all PCA families. Don’t have a RightNow Media account or have questions? Please email Holly Steinberger at holly.steinberger@cbcjoy.org.

The Challenge

Another great resource has been made available as we launch the new year and it is a 21-Day Challenge presented by the Barna Group and Andy Crouch, Author of The Tech-Wise Family. Junior and senior PCA Bible students will be hearing about this challenge that launches on Monday, January 7. If you would like to learn more and engage your family in this great opportunity, please click HERE.

We would love to hear your feedback in the comment section. Again, Happy New Year and enjoy this final weekend of Christmas break!
