This past Saturday, four elementary and middle school students from Plymouth Christian Academy spent the morning serving at the Trinity Church food pantry. Shout out to Angelina Horrall (8th grade), Christian Collins (7th grade), Bentley Horrall (6th grade), and Elizabeth McHugh (8th grade) for the great report we received about their service at Trinity Church. “They represented our school and churches so well! People complemented them on how hard they worked and with such willing servant hearts! Most of it was new to them… Lots of it was not glamorous… And outside the comfort zone for some of them too. But they definitely showed the love of Jesus this weekend!”

Did you know that there is a service requirement for PCA secondary students? As part of our secondary Bible curriculum, high school students volunteer and serve outside of school five hours each quarter. Middle school students serve two hours each quarter outside of school. As a school, we are passionate about cultivating the spirit of service within the hearts of our students, following the example that Jesus set for all of us. Mark 10:45, “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (ESV)

We are grateful for the partnership that we share with parents in the endeavor to provide service opportunities for our students. Thank you for taking the time on a weekend to make sure your students have transportation to and from organizations. Thank you for serving alongside them in many cases. We have created a Christian service guide that you can download and refer to when seeking volunteer opportunities. Click HERE to download. We hope that this guide helps your family select appropriate service opportunities for your students. If you have additional organizations that you would like to see added to the guide, please let us know by emailing peggy.paulson@plymouthchristian.org. Thank you!
