You’ve probably heard the term, “PTF” at PCA, but you may not be sure what it means. We thought we’d take a few minutes to explain their mission and let you know about an exciting opportunity to serve!

The leaders of the Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) believe that strong parent involvement is a key to student success. In addition to the success of our children, we also believe that we are called to serve the Lord and encourage one another. With this in mind, the mission of the PTF was established: Seeking to provide opportunities for parents to support the ministry of Plymouth Christian Academy, to serve and encourage the faculty, and promote community and fellowship among parents and staff.

What does the PTF do at PCA?
Encourage & support PCA Faculty & Staff:

    • Teacher wish-list items for classrooms
    • Hosting of events such as Staff Soup Luncheons, Christmas Party, and Teacher Appreciation Luncheon
    • Provide fresh fruit weekly in teachers’ lounges
    • Provide coffee and supplies for the teachers’ lounges

Promote school spirit and community:

    • Host PCA Family Picnic
    • 5K Walk/Run for World Vision
    • New Family Mentor Program
    • School Clean-Up Days
    • Volunteer Coordination
    • Popcorn Fridays
    • PCA Skate Night Party

During this school year, the following are a few of the items provided for PCA classrooms:

    Circuit Kits for Mrs Hope
Amazon Fire Tablets for 3rd grade
    Math program for 1st grade

After serving for five years as the PTF Treasurer, Nancy Chapman is stepping down. In addition to serving as the treasurer for the past five years, Nancy worked faithfully with the Parent Teacher Fellowship since 2007. She also met weekly for several years with the Prayer Partners to pray for our students, staff, and faculty. Nancy’s youngest child, Magalie, is a member of the Class of 2017 and graduated this past week. With that graduation, Nancy will be moving on from her role in the PTF. It is our prayer that she won’t go too far though! Thank you Nancy for your years of service and the wonderful impact you have had at PCA. You will be greatly missed!

With this transition, the PTF is seeking someone to fill the role of treasurer for the group. Are you gifted in this area and do you feel led to serve at PCA in this way? If so, we want to hear from you! Please
email the PTF President, Andrea Shook, at andrea.shook@plymouthchristian.org. We look forward to working with you this upcoming school year!
